How can i make my fishfinder into a portable one.?
Ive heard people making their stationary fish finders into portable ones by mounting the transducer onto a stick then attaching it to some kind of 12v battery. I have mounting part figured out but what kind of battery should i use? Please be specific, name, brand, where to buy, etc..
8 D cells rigged in series should give you 12volts and enough amps to last awhile. Also I think the big lantern type batteries are 6volt, so rigging two of them in series should also work. I think that would be easiest. Maybe motorcycle batteries come in 12 volt but i'm not sure and that would start to get a little heavy and you would need a charger. I don't know, but I think it would just be easiest to buy a portable if you can afford it, but good luck anyway.
