Hazing of birds in Nestucca estuary to protect migrating juvenile salmon and steelhead begins April 25

Newport, Ore.— Hazing of double-crested cormorants that eat juvenile salmon and steelhead on their migration from freshwater rivers to the sea will begin on April 25 in the Nestucca estuary. Hazing operations are currently underway in Tillamook and Nehalem bays.
