There will be a press conference today, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 4:00 pm PST to announce and award the new All-Tackle World Record for yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) to Mike Livingston of Sunland, California. His 405 lb fish was boated on the Vagabond captained by Mike Lackey on November 30, 2010 off the coast of Magdalena Bay, Mexico. After fighting the mammoth tuna for 2 hours and 40 minutes, Livingston bested a record set in 1977 by Curt Wiesenhutter, whose 388 lb yellowfin catch held the title for 33 years.
